If I were you, if I would stay from the telescope and simply a cheap combo from a place like Wal-Mart. You can get decent bars for under $ 20 and get a reasonable combo for under 30 also. Telescopic poles are more problems than advantages.

Keep away from the telescopic pole. They are really just garbage, not the spine. Even Wal-Mart is the bar / / drum kit at this price, but in general, I think he would be happy with the purchase of long-term.
